Tomorrow brings us Day 1 of the Championships at Wimbledon, the most watched and wagered upon tennis tournament in the world. I enjoy watching tennis but I don’t got financially involved much, as I don’t consider myself expert enough to consistently beat the oddsmakers. That being said, it’s Wimbledon, so I’m sure I’ll have a few small bets here and there.
Below are the men’s and women’s singles odds, courtesy of the Las Vegas Hilton. My picks, for what they’re worth (here’s where I remind you that Webb Simpson was one of my two picks in my “U.S. Open Odds to Win, Props” post a couple of weeks ago), are listed at the bottom.

My favorite bets:
Men
Andy Murray (13/2)- The men’s tennis world has been ruled by the Federer/Nadal/Djokovic triumvirate for several years now, but Andy Murray has closed the gap in recent years and he’s poised to break through with a Grand Slam victory. What better place than Wimbledon, where he’s made the semifinals for three straight years. Plus, at 13/2, the price is right.
Robin Soderling (66/1)- If you’re looking for a longshot to throw a couple of bucks on, try Robin Soderling. The Swede with the big serve has played well at Wimbledon before, and this may be his last, best chance to make some noise in the tournament. At an astronomical price like 66/1, he’s worth a shot.
Women
Caroline Wozniacki (20/1)- I am going to have a play on Wozniacki in this year’s tournament, no question about it. I know she has a long history of disappointing in Grand Slams, but she’s just too good to be at 20/1. This is a player who was #1 in the world a few months ago, and grass is one of her better surfaces. I like this one.
Soderling’s got as much of a chance as I have. even at 66/1 it’s just throwing away your money
